Before Monday 2nd November, I had no idea what the word 'Machinima' meant. I now know that it is basically a short animated video, which is made using a game engine, such as Sims or GTA. Although before Monday I had never heard of that word, I did know what Machinima was, just by simply browsing the internet.
You know when you go on YouTube, and want to watch one of your favourite music videos. You usually click on the fist video link, because that's the one you're after. But have you ever scrolled past that first video? Or maybe even ventured on to the next page of searches? That is where you may find an example of Machinima. For me it was an Avril Lavigne music video made using Sims 2. It was actually quite good.
So anyway, that it was Machinima is. Although it is commonly used for people to parody other videos, it is more widely used for people, such as film makers, to create their own films/sketches, using a gaming software. Here are examples of more popular examples of this; 'Male Restroom Etiquette' and 'Red vs Blue: Why Are We Here?'
